False Fire alarm forces Test match to stop at Dunedin

The alarm started going on when South Africa was batting in their second innings scoring 14 for 1; the fire alarm caused huge confusion among cricketers and crowds. The game was postponed for almost twenty minutes when an announcement was heart to evacuate the entire venue.

Fire fighters rushed to the scene to investigate the occurrence and asked a total of around 3296 spectators to leave the ground; cricketers along with match officials were sent at the side of the field.

The exact cause of the alarm being ran out was not known; Cricket South Africa later tweeted it as the ‘false alarm.’
