News came out during the India-Bangladesh Hyderabad Test that former Indian left-arm spinner Sunil Joshi would join Bangladesh team as spin consultant ahead of their tour of Sri Lanka. But Akram has said that he might be appointed later.
“We talked with him (Joshi) during the India tour. He had informed us that he might join us for the Sri Lanka series. But now, he has pushed back the time, due to some ongoing negotiation regarding his contract. So we will not consider him for the Sri Lanka series.
“We will decide after the series as to how we will use him. He can work for the academy or the High Performance Unit or for the national team,” said Akram Khan.
Sunil Joshi played 15 Tests and 60 ODIs for India. He took 41 in Tests and 69 in ODIs. He took 615 wickets in 160 first-class matches. He announced retirement from International cricket and first-class cricket in 2012. He was appointed bowling coach
